Procedural Generation

2 min read·Article 21 / 24

Procedural generation in XOM means producing content from rules rather than from stored assets: a creator defines constraints and objectives, and the system builds the detail. The capability is specified in the Aware Technology layer that XOM bridges into, and it reaches users through XOM's own AI content containers.

01Where it is specified

Aware Technology is XOM's AI intelligence layer, connected through a dedicated bridge component and comprising eight interconnected subsystems covering content intelligence, sentiment analysis, recommendation, moderation, fraud detection, user experience, analytics intelligence and safety.

Within Aware's own subsystem specification, procedural generation belongs to the Exchanger System, whose stated purpose is autonomous simulation, dynamic world construction and procedural generation. Its documented flow has three stages, each pairing a user input with a system component:

  • Scenario goals → autonomous simulation. The user defines the purpose or objective of a simulated interaction; the system runs independent simulations against scenario logic and rules; the AI generates projected outcomes from those inputs.
  • Role definitions → dynamic world construction. The user specifies participant functions or agent identities; the system builds an evolving environment that adapts to that input.
  • Environment constraints → procedural generation. The user outlines rules, limitations and physical boundaries for the simulated space; the system creates emergent detail dynamically, without pre-programmed data.

The same subsystem also defines a signal relay hub that routes generated data packets to a specified endpoint, which is how output leaves the generator and reaches a consuming platform.

02Where it surfaces in XOM

XOM's container framework carries the presentation side. The artificial container within the dynamic family is the module designated for AI-generated content display, routed like every other container through the handler that reads a post's type and metadata and lazy-loads the matching component. Alongside it, the intelligent family contains containers for content analysis, personalised experience, recommendation and sentiment.

On the authoring side, the Create Console lists AI content creation among its tools, next to a template gallery, a stock asset library, personal asset management and cross-platform sharing.

03Current status

The platform's own component inventory records the eight Aware subsystems as built with activation pending, and full Aware Technology activation appears on the development roadmap as a later-phase item rather than a shipped one. Treat generation capability as specified and wired, but confirm activation state before describing it as available to users.
