DigiFX does not publish an operating system. What this page answers is the question customers actually ask under that heading: which operating systems, devices, and runtimes the DigiFX software runs on.
01Desktop
A desktop launcher is referenced in two places, and they do not currently agree. The Software Solutions and Extensions site footers link a Windows build at digifx.com/xr/download/windows/dfx.zip and a Mac build at digifx.com/xr/download/mac/dfx.zip, both labeled version V.001a. The platform page instead describes the launcher in future tense — access to the creative tools from a desktop computer is described as coming soon.
Until that is reconciled, treat desktop launcher availability as unconfirmed and do not quote a version number to a customer. Beyond the launcher, DFX Create lists mobile and desktop integration, and DFX Social lists web access, so browser-based use does not depend on a desktop install.
02Headsets and immersive devices
The platform FAQ names specific hardware compatibility. On the VR side: Apple Vision Pro, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and PlayStation VR. On the AR side: Microsoft HoloLens and Magic Leap. The FAQ also states the platform integrates with major development environments and software tools.
The software modules describe the same surface from their own side. Create lists VR/AR platform compatibility, headset support, virtual hand tracking, and motion controller support, plus ARKit and ARCore integration for mobile augmented reality. Stream lists headset optimization, controller support, haptic feedback, and console integration. Both list wearable support, and Exchange lists wearable notifications alongside its mobile, desktop, and web clients.
03Extensions and non-standard displays
Some DigiFX deployments do not run on a personal device at all. The Extensions division covers holographic projection, immersive kiosk directories, cinematic projection mapping, holographic fan displays, mobile device augmentation, interactive XR wearables, and digital touch screen displays. These are installed surfaces, and their host hardware and operating environment are defined per deployment rather than by a general compatibility list.
04The Dragon OS interface layer
Package material refers to "Dragon OS." The Alpha package tiers describe the packages as built on the modern Dragon OS architecture, and the Silver tier includes a "Standard Dragon OS Interface," with higher tiers adding enhanced visual layout and full system integration. Media Console knowledgebase pages load a Dragon OS design-language stylesheet.
In everything reviewed here, Dragon OS is the name for the console's interface architecture and design language — not a bootable operating system and not a replacement for Windows, macOS, iOS, or Android. State it that way unless DigiFX positions it otherwise.
