Themes & Layouts

2 min read·Article 09 / 12

Themes and layouts are the styling layer that sits between an environment and its content. The environment decides what kind of space you are in; the theme decides what it looks like and how the content within it is arranged.

01The storefront style selector

The largest published theme catalog is the storefront style selector. It is organized into seven style families:

  • Apparel
  • Beauty
  • Fashion
  • Jewelry
  • Market
  • Venue
  • Relax

Each family carries a lettered set of options — Option A, Option B, and so on — for a total of 81 published storefront styles. Every option is annotated with a runtime size and an item capacity. All currently published options are small runtimes carrying 20 to 50 items, which is the practical constraint to plan around: a storefront theme is sized for a curated selection, not a full catalog dump.

The options within a family differ in presentation rather than function. One apparel style leans on virtual fitting, another on curated showroom browsing, another on a three-dimensional product inspection view. The underlying commerce components are the same; the theme decides how a shopper encounters them.

02Experience themes

Alongside the storefront styles sits a smaller set of full experience themes, each with its own presentation deck:

| Theme | Character | |---|---| | Epic Adventure | Narrative journey and quest framing | | Luxury Storefront | High-end retail presentation | | Live Experience | Real-time events and performance | | Digital Empire | Enterprise and brand-dominance framing | | Neon Fantasy | Futuristic and fantastical styling | | Adrenaline Rush | High-performance vehicles and speed | | Luxury Lifestyle | Refined lifestyle and aspirational goods | | Space Exploration | Cosmic and observational settings |

These are heavier than a storefront style. They set tone, environment dressing, and narrative framing across the whole runtime rather than styling a product grid.

03Where themes fit in the build

In the platform quick start, themes are step two: you select an environment, then apply a theme and layout, then customize the package of components. This is also where the platform's AI content writer is used — you provide a few sentences describing the brand or campaign and it drafts the environment's written content against the chosen theme.

Layouts are handled by components rather than by the theme itself. The Included component group ships preset layouts and a procedural generation system, and Environment+ adds integrated procedural layouts that assemble a space from stated preferences. A theme therefore constrains the visual language while the layout components decide the arrangement.

04Practical guidance

Choose the theme after the environment and before the component package. Switching themes later is cheap; switching environments after components are configured is not, because the component set is scoped to the environment type.
